Pastoral Care

 As Pasifika peoples working in the I.T. industry for many years we recognise that ApprenTECHship and the future workforce will require a support network to ensure the success of the programme.

The Apprentice will be a school leaver and transitioning to full time employment can be a challenging process to undertake and that is why Pastoral Care is key. Pastoral care would be managed by an agency selected by Pasifika in I.T.

Pastoral Care’s role displays:

• Engagement with the Apprentice, Employer and the Household.

• Ensures key areas such as punctuation, dress, communication and cultural competencies are maintained.

• Consistent engagement with the household and updates on the Apprentice’s progress in their employment.

• Provides support with education and self-paced learning.

• Introduces mentoring or peer support to the Apprentice.

• Administration and reporting to stakeholders.
